Susan and Dale DuRette maintain this five-bedroom B&B. Susan cooks seasonal breakfasts from scratch. In the summer she's known for her sour cream lemon pancakes and in the winter she makes her apple hazelnut or puffed apple pancakes. Susan also prepares fresh scones from scratch, topped with marionberry jam. Asparagus fritata is popular springtime fare.

Unlike many B&Bs, Steiger Haus is within walking distance of downtown. That's perfect for business travel, vacationers and parents visiting students at Linfield College. And with a grove of white oaks surrounding the estate, it has a country feel. So have an extra glass of wine downtown and don't worry about having to navigate a car back to a country bed and breakfast.
